The Collective’s Peer Review & Decision-Making Process
The Collective’s submission and review will take place in two rounds:
Round One: Submit your idea through our online form! You’ll tell us the who and what with a short pitch, proposed format, tech specs, bios for the submitters, and contact information. If it sounds like a good fit for The Collective program according to the criteria to the right (and we hope it will!), you’ll be invited to submit your fully-formed work to Round Two.
Note: If we get similar suggestions from several folks, we’ll connect you so you have the opportunity to collaborate and avoid duplication!
Round Two: In this round, you’ll build out your content. You’ll be given a firm deadline for your submission. Our team of peer reviewers will conduct an open review of your work, which will be returned to you with detailed feedback, comments, and any required revisions, such as accessibility issues, structural feedback, pedagogical suggestions, etc.
Please Note: Inclusion of your work in The Collective is contingent upon addressing feedback from the peer review process.
If you have any questions or concerns about format, please reach out to program@thelibrarycollective.org. We’re happy to help and hear your ideas!
Review Criteria:
- Relevance to the library community
- Quality of the writing/content
- Innovativeness of the format/approach
- Variety & balance among submissions (i.e. we’ll avoid duplication!)
- Ability to meet our accessibility requirements
- Diversity of voices and perspectives (i.e. we’ll strive to have as much diversity as possible).
