Some people choose to come to The Collective because it's low-cost, but that should NOT be your only reason for coming.

Highly Interactive!

You will meet LOTS of new people, through activities and events. While we offer a quiet room for decompression, you should steer clear if you don't enjoy meeting new people.

Outside the Average Comfort Zone!

We encourage innovative approaches to sessions and activities. This is NOT an event where you can sit in the back and take notes. Only those willing to step outside of their routine/comfort zone should proceed.

Requires Full Participation!

We differ from most conferences in that we have sessions where every conference attendee is expected to attend, such as the Opening Plenary, Failure Confessions, and Closing Plenary. We expect attendees will want to attend ALL day both days (because it’s super fun!), but if that’s not your thing, we might not be the event you’re looking for.

March 6-8,  2019 - Holiday Inn Downtown, Knoxville, TN

We recommend participants arrive on Wednesday afternoon so that they can participate Wednesday night activities (e.g. dine arounds) and depart on Saturday morning so they don’t miss on the closing session and (super duper fun!) wrap-up networking event Friday night.


Cost: $80 (plus $6.51 in fees if you pay via credit card, $3.99 in fees if you pay by check or invoice) via EventBrite.

We've designed The Collective as a unparalleled low-cost gathering where all fees go towards benefits for participants, including complimentary breakfasts and coffee breaks (Thursday and Friday) and a rockin' opening night reception with full dinner buffet.

Note: Dinearounds, lunch, and Friday dinner/closing party are not inclusive, they are pay-your-own.

Registration is first come, first served until February 1, 2019 or until all spaces are full (which usually happens sooner!). 

Hotel Accommodation

The official conference hotel will be the Holiday Inn Downtown located in the heart of downtown Knoxville. This hotel offers a special CONUS-approved rate ($96/night) and includes extra value for The Collective participants including complimentary parking and free Wi-Fi! All conference sessions will take place here; other events will be within walking distance. The Holiday Inn also offers a complimentary shuttle to locations within 3 miles of the hotel. This rate is available until February 4, 2019 or until the block is full.

Getting Here

Getting to Knoxville may be easier and cheaper than you think! We are serviced by Megabus, which offers low-cost daily bus service to lots of other hubs, including Atlanta, GA; Buffalo, NY; Chattanooga, TN: Cincinnati; Christiansburg, VA; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH;  Erie, PA; Lexington, KY; New York; and Washington, DC. And Knoxville is within a day's drive of nearly 2/3 of the population of the US!

For those coming from further away, Knoxville is serviced by the McGhee Tyson Airport, which offers non-stop flights from many major cities, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas - Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. The airport is situated about 12 miles from the conference hotel - a quick cab or car ride away. A listing of cab services is available here; Knoxville also has Lyft and Uber drivers at the ready for your transportation needs.

Event Parking

Free parking is available for local (Knoxville) attendees and guests at the conference hotel.

Nearby parking in the Locust Street (recommended), Market Square, and State Street garages is free after 6pm on weekends and all day on weekends. Additional information about city parking can be found here
